Lights, Cars, and Guitars

It's been a wonderful week in Michigan! Before temperatures cooled down yesterday, we loved the summer like weather. Rose LOVES to be outside and look at all the sights, listen to the sounds and take in the smells. She's been a trooper tolerating us lather her up with sunscreen and put on her sunglasses, although sometimes she is more interested in chewing them than actually wearing them. We're working on that.

Reading my books

Rose has become a big talker. She appears to be taking after her Uncle Ray, as light and car are two of her favorite words. She is fascinated by lights and was distracted this week at swim lessons because she had to point out the big lights above the pool the whole class. She also likes cars and going bye bye in the car. When looking out the window she gets excited to see a car drive by. The other day she had a real treat at Grandma and Grandpa T's house. She was outside and a police car drove by. He even stopped and put on his lights for Rose to see. What fun! She loved it.

Driving the bus

Some of her other favorite words are guitar "tar", go, squirrel, quack "kack", hi, bunny and dada. She continues to love reading her books and has moved on past some of her favorites to pick out some new ones to read.

Playtime with my kitchen

She is cruising along the furniture and is getting around pretty well. She can even stand by herself for a few seconds before sitting down. Changing time has also become more challenging as she is a squirmy worm and doesn't like being on her back much anymore. Rose is fascinated at opening and closing doors and has discovered that she can do this in the kitchen with the cabinets. We are going to work on childproofing.

I discovered I can open the cabinets

Rose got some new shoes this past weekend and I think she likes them. At first, she wasn't so sure but started walking around (with mom or dad's help) like a champ. She can even crawl up a few stairs before she gets distracted and wants to do something else.

New shoes, like them or hate them?
