Can't stop me now

Rose is doing great and she is walking all over the place. She is getting around really well and is learning to slow down a little, since she gets really excited and wants to go FAST. We are having the usual bumps and bruises, but she is a tough little girl. Life sure won't be the same chasing her around everywhere.

Hi!!
She continues to work on new words and is quite the chatty kathy. Some new words include the number two, garage, frog, and click (the sound her highchair makes when we strap her in). She is even starting to say mama a little more often.

We had a fabulous play date on Friday with Miranda and Simona. These girls had a great time sharing their toys, babbling to each other, listening to music, and getting around all over the house. We had so much fun and can't wait to see them again soon.

Big smiles

Busy playing
Some of Rose's favorite new toys are my old My Little Ponies and stable. She loves to take them in and out of the stable. She also likes her balls, and the bunnies are still a big hit from Easter. She still spends lots of time reading her favorite books. She is really into opening and closing doors too.

My Little Ponies
It looks like another bottom tooth has cut through and the other side looks close. That will be 8 total teeth, 4 on bottom and 4 on top. She has been such a good girl, just a little drooly but no fussing!

So silly

Somebody's Walking!

What an exciting couple of weeks. Rose has moved from cruising around the furniture to taking up to 10 steps on her own! She prefers to hold on to somebody else's finger while walking around, but she is starting to take off. She gets so excited and wants to go so fast that she falls alot. She is getting better by the day and we are so proud of our very active girl.

Rose enjoyed a visit with the Easter bunny last week and was on her best behavior. We didn't get a huge smile in the picture but managed to avoid any meltdowns. She also had a very big weekend, enjoying a 3 night stay with Grandma and Grandpa H while Ryan and I went to Las Vegas for a few days. She was a very good girl, good sleeper, good eater, with non-stop action and playtime. They even reported that she was the best behaved baby at church on Easter. She was able to visit with Uncles Jay and Chad, Great Grandma H, and Aunt Mary. What fun!

Rose continues to expand her vocabulary. Some of her new favorite words are potty, up, drop, down, tree and dinner. She is trying so hard to have a conversation with us and we can't wait to hear what's on that little mind of hers. It's hard to believe that she is going to be 11 months on the 15th! What a wonderful time it's been.

Party Time

We had another great weekend full of fun. Rose is cruising along the furniture pretty fast now and has even taken a few steps on her own! Every day she is getting closer to walking all by herself. She is enjoying playing with her bunnies, as this can entertain her for quite some time. The bunnies go on the floor, then on the couch, then on the chair, then she tackles them on the floor. Who needs TV when you have a baby at home to entertain!

All smiles

Playing with my ball

Rose graduated from her first swim class session on Saturday. She really enjoyed the water and interacting with the other kids, and yes was still fascinated by the big lights above the pool.

She had a big birthday party for her cousin Jack this weekend at a moonwalk place. She had so much to look at and was non-stop the entire afternoon. She loves seeing her cousins and the other kids and enjoyed seeing DeDe and Bob too.

Sunday was a fun day at home with lots of playtime and lap time around the house. Grandma and Grandpa H came over for a nice dinner so Rose was so happy to see them and show them her toys and point out all the sites in the backyard. She is getting excited for a sleepover at their house coming up soon too.

Lights, Cars, and Guitars

It's been a wonderful week in Michigan! Before temperatures cooled down yesterday, we loved the summer like weather. Rose LOVES to be outside and look at all the sights, listen to the sounds and take in the smells. She's been a trooper tolerating us lather her up with sunscreen and put on her sunglasses, although sometimes she is more interested in chewing them than actually wearing them. We're working on that.
Say Cheese

Reading my books

Rose has become a big talker. She appears to be taking after her Uncle Ray, as light and car are two of her favorite words. She is fascinated by lights and was distracted this week at swim lessons because she had to point out the big lights above the pool the whole class. She also likes cars and going bye bye in the car. When looking out the window she gets excited to see a car drive by. The other day she had a real treat at Grandma and Grandpa T's house. She was outside and a police car drove by. He even stopped and put on his lights for Rose to see. What fun! She loved it.

Driving the bus

Some of her other favorite words are guitar "tar", go, squirrel, quack "kack", hi, bunny and dada. She continues to love reading her books and has moved on past some of her favorites to pick out some new ones to read.

Playtime with my kitchen

She is cruising along the furniture and is getting around pretty well. She can even stand by herself for a few seconds before sitting down. Changing time has also become more challenging as she is a squirmy worm and doesn't like being on her back much anymore. Rose is fascinated at opening and closing doors and has discovered that she can do this in the kitchen with the cabinets. We are going to work on childproofing.

I discovered I can open the cabinets

Rose got some new shoes this past weekend and I think she likes them. At first, she wasn't so sure but started walking around (with mom or dad's help) like a champ. She can even crawl up a few stairs before she gets distracted and wants to do something else.

New shoes, like them or hate them?

Happy St. Patty's Day

There will be a lot of GREEN in our house this weekend! Go Spartans! We are loving this great weather. We had swim class this morning, went on a walk and even all went out for dinner tonight. It was a busy day for Rose.

Happy Birthday Grandma T

It's Grandma T's birthday today! Wishing you a wonderful year ahead. Rose wants to spend a special thank you for helping take such good care of her :)

Hello everyone
Can you believe it's March!? Next week, Rose will be 10 months old already. It seems like only yesterday we were eagerly anticipating her arrival. She's had a great week. Last weekend was jammed packed with fun. We celebrated her cousin Caitlin's birthday both days. Rose enjoyed all the kids and she loves soaking up all the interaction with little people and big people too. She had swim class #2 and continues her success and enjoyment of the water. She even enjoyed her first walk of the year with Grandma and Grandpa T. She loves being outside to enjoy the fresh air and take in all the sights, sounds, and smells.

Just chillin in my ride

Rose can't get enough of her books. She has her favorites, but spends plenty of time reading everyday from her vast collection. Even if she is playing by herself, she often gravitates to her books over her other toys. Keep it up kiddo!

Let's read!

Girl On The Move

Look out world! Here comes Rose. She is certainly in the phase of curiosity about everything. Since she's mobile, she is either crawling, or pulling up on things and testing her skills as she is getting closer to walking on her own. She loves walking around the house (many laps) over and over holding onto only 2 fingers of her willing companion. She enjoys looking at the family photos and her favorite people to identify are her cousins, Caitlin and Jack! She continues to develop her vocabulary as you can decipher some of her favorite words. These favorite words include dada, bottle (ba), car (ca), kitty, go, jack, and she is working on curious george and cockadoodledoo. What fun!

I love Little People
Rose's 9 month appointment went great. She had a little diva moment since she decided she did not want to lay down on the baby scale. Long story short, after some screaming and peeing without her diaper on and a bottle, she settled into her sweet and charming self. She tipped the scale at 20lb 6oz (75th%) and 29.25in long (90-95%). It appears she may have the tall genes. She is a healthy and happy baby girl and we are so blessed.

I'm such a big girl!

This thing is so cool

She is a good natured girl and is pretty happy to see almost anyone with a smile. She is fascinated by Dad's guitar and wants to play with him all the time. So much for her toy guitar, she wants the real thing! It is tougher and tougher to change her and get dressed since she always wants to be upright and on the go. She is a little squirmy worm. She now has 5 teeth, 2 on the bottom and 3 on the top. Teething hasn't phased her too much. She isn't quite sleeping through the night, but usually up a couple of times.

Let me play Dad!

We also started swim classes this past weekend. She seemed to really enjoy the water. She only fussed a couple times since she tried to drink too much of the water. She splashed and played and passed out in her car seat as soon as we packed her up.

Great champion in training

This is hard work

Long day at the pool
It's hard to believe she is approaching her first birthday. She is our little sunshine and everyday is so much brighter with her in it!!
